We have all been there, we have too many things on our schedule, and we must choose which ones will get our attention and which ones we must skip. How do we make these decisions? Our schedules tell us what is important in our lives. What does your daily agenda look like?
Priorities
Life can be overwhelming. It is not easy to always know the correct direction to take or have the motivation or confidence to gain the success you are looking for. Setting priorities helps to develop habits and build a routine that will lead to your destination. Selecting priorities is making the conscious decisions that align with what is important to you. Note that priorities change depending on the day or season in life. Some ideas to start with are:
- Create a list of tasks. Creating a list of tasks to complete can help you determine which to prioritize over others.
- Rank your tasks. Study each of your tasks and rank them by their level of importance.
- Allocate time requirements for each task.
- Use a schedule or calendar for your day’s priorities.
As you analyze your list, do your priorities include three important items for your health and longevity?
Schedule Time
Success is achieved by what is on our calendar. To live your dream/goals, you must create a plan that includes daily steps and activities. The only way that happens is to schedule time on your calendar. It is these actions steps that turn challenges into opportunities for growth.
Many management consultants review the daily calendar of the executive they are working with. The purpose of this activity is that what is scheduled gets accomplished. Also, what is scheduled is important and a priority to that individual.
