Self reflection is hard work. It is not always easy to look at ourselves with introspection and be honest and open with who we really are. Looking inwardly at our character and giving serious thought whether our actions match our intentions should be part of our daily routine.

There is also the question of acceptance; the ability to look at our strengths as well as our challenges. Hopefully, we are not concentrating on only one or the other. It’s important to have a balanced look at ourselves and to focus on the areas that are the most meaningful.

Here are a few questions for reflection:

  • What is your self-talk? Are you kind to yourself and give yourself some grace as you navigate life or are you harsh and negative?
  • What do you value? Do your daily actions and calendar reflect time for what you value most?
  • Are you mindful and in the moment or distracted and emotionally unavailable?
