I’m Hungry Now, What Should I Eat?

I seem to be hungry many times throughout the day.  Being very active, I need nutrients to keep going.  I always look for healthy foods with protein to keep me full. Which items from the picture would you choose? What should I eat? Here are some of my quick go to ideas:

Eggs

These are a natural source of high-quality protein with just 70 calories per large egg. Eggs help with weight management, muscle strength, brain function, eye health and cognition.

Salmon

Salmon is good for the heart. It contains omega-3 fatty acids that have a lot of heart-related benefits. It lowers cholesterol levels and strengthens your heart muscle. When cholesterol levels go down, so does blood pressure. It can help reduce systemic inflammation.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt can improve bone health because it includes calcium and protein.  It has less sugar then other yogurt because the whey has been taken out. The protein can help reduce hunger and build muscle mass.  The probiotics are beneficial to your mental health and gut health.

Avocados

Avocados are very nutritious with 20 vitamins and minerals. They also make you feel fuller longer which helps reduce hunger and helps with weight management.

Nuts

Nuts are a great source of several nutrients, are loaded with antioxidants, are high in fat, and low in carbs.  Eating nuts in moderation can help with weight management and can assist in lowering heart disease.

Hummus

Hummus is very nutritious and is loaded with plant-based proteins that help fight inflammation.  The high fiber content promotes gut and digestive health.

What should I eat? I keep these on hand and many of these items I can grab and go or add to a salad or other meal.  What are some of your go to foods?

  1. Lately my go to foods to snack on have been fruits or veggies. I tend to reach for berries and carrots the most but I try to make sure to get my protein in during my meals.
